  • Attended SENY Convention meeting and picked chair people.
  • SENY Service participation meeting.
  • 2013 NERF, Friday June 7-9, Crowne Plaza Hotel & Conference, 100 Berlin Rd Cromwell, CT Hosted by Area 11. SENY will be providing a bus for a Saturday trip. Please contact Rich C for more information. Bus will be leaving from East 43rd & Lexington at 8am and returning from NERF at 6pm.   • Attended The Delegates day of Sharing in Bronx, NY, SENY Pre-conference Assembly, SENY Convention.

  • In talks of reorganizing emails to all GSRs in order to unify and better inform each district and group within. As of now, the responsibility is to send emails to DCMs.

  • DCMs – Group update forms are in. DCMs should make sure to contact Mike with registrar forms;
  • Mike’s computer crashed but any new information submitted tonight should be added by next month’s meeting.
  • New GSRs, DCMs, etc must submit new registration forms by end of meeting.
  • Any new “Group Information” forms can be submitted tonight for updates.

  • AA is based upon a true theory of democracy.
  • When creating a motion, think it through of “Who, What, and Why” the affect will impact. “Does this need to be said now?”
  • GSRs should report to all groups, committees and activities. Service attendance is at the utmost importance as to best stay informed.
  • DCM are to support GSRs in their new service role and helps to set up district communication back to all groups in their district.

Archives- Bob – Bob is in need of volunteers for unity breakfast.

Corrections- Troy W. – Corrections has volunteers for the Bridging the Gap program for all but 2 districts. They are still shy of female volunteers. Wednesday May 23rd at 7pm, SIA volunteer meeting, at SIA office.

CPC – Joanne-The committee was invited on March 25th into Manhattan to provide presentation at 79th street workshop. Committee would like to invite the body to a presentation from 1:30 to 2:30 at the SIA office in Patchogue. SCERP (Suffolk County Emergency Room Project) is underway.

LICYPAA Liaison- Izzy R- June 7th, West Islip, First meeting 36 Bayshore Rd, West Islip NY.. June 14th, Open Mic night at 36 Bayshore Rd, West Islip, NY. Meeting from 7-8, 8:30-11:30 open Mic. July 14th at 11am, Yoga in the Park. Annual LICYPAA Luau, August 10th Robert Moses Pavilion, Field 3; from Dawn until dusk. At the luau there will be a book drive for treatment facilities to continue to carry the message for donation.

LI Spirituality Through Service (LISTS) – Jim- Brooklyn will Host in 2013. Cathy B. from Brooklyn is the new Chair. If interested in joining committee. Please email longislandsts@yahoo.com or attend kick off meeting in February.  Committee will meet the first Thursday of every month at Cathy B’s residence. All counties need to submit check of $300 for treasury for committee. Theme for this year’s event is yet to be determined. Main goal at the moment is to procure venue for event; parking and mass transit will play larger role is decision for venue. Date TBD, possibly September or October 2013.

Public Information- Tom C- PI has been meeting with CPC. “Anonymity: We are not a secret society” True North Community Church, Saturday May 4th, 1-4. Event went very well with great attendance.

Special Needs – Michele E – Committee is still in need of co-chair. First meeting at SENY level was held in Manhattan on May 1st.  Meeting was very helpful and informative. There are a few people within the entire body who are in need of at home meetings. Phone calls for the homebound are more than appreciated.

Web Committee- John- Last month new site went live. www.aasuffolkgs-ny.org Please visit site for additional information. Pages on the website for committees are moving forward rapidly. Objective of the website is to create a place where people can go to be inspired to do service. Website will provide rocket to take you into 4th dimension.

Writing Committee-VACANT-

Unity Breakfast- Rick B. – Based on budget size and attendance, this is Suffolk County’s premier event. Volunteers are needed to begin preparations for next year’s event. Rick is asking the body to approve Linda C. (last year’s chairperson) as next year’s treasurer.  The body votes for Linda C to take on treasurer commitment.

New business:

  • LICYPAA would like to set up table within GSO meeting to collect books, literature, and funds for the book drive. Book drive to is target Juvenile detention centers, high school libraries, etc in order to target young people in areas. (motion to set up table: 55 in favor, 1 opposed, 3 abstentions. Motion carries)
