On Sunday, January 27, 2013, the Web Committee held a morning design session and an afternoon training session.
During the morning session, the Amy M, Terry M and I hashed out what committee pages would look like on our new site. We agreed a first cut which Amy is developing.
Remember, we want the site to be self-supporting through contributions from SGS members.
To this end, we trained web committee members Chris D, Michelle E and Kathy B on adding content to the site ( Michele E also served as our crash dummy committee chair.) We started with a discussion of web guidelines with an emphasis on anonymity. Then the participants dove in and practiced adding content and events to the site under Amy’s sure tutelage. Ample abuse was heaped on the committee chair during the session which is as it should be.
Alternate DCMC Matt F and Registrar Mike R dropped by at the end of the training. We trained Mike on maintaining the Contacts page and admired the way Matt handled packing up the projector.
