What could be worse than a suffering alcoholic going to a meeting in the meeting list and finding nobody there?
Suffolk Intergroup Association (SIA) publishes the meeting list for Suffolk County in hardcopy and online at suffolkny-aa.org.
In order to be listed, a group must provide a yearly update to the SIA to confirm its meeting schedule and contact information. All groups must do this by OCTOBER 1st or they will not appear in either the hardcopy or online meeting lists.
You can determine if your group has been updated and will appear in the November 2015 meeting list by going to suffolkny-aa.org and finding your meeting. In the following example screen from the SIA website, the Fort Salonga Workshop was updated and will appear in the meeting list. The Kings Park Group and Just for Today are greyed out; these groups have not been updated and may be removed from the meeting list unless they follow the instructions on the screen.
Please check your group’s status and if necessary follow the update process to stay in the meeting list. Please check other groups you may attend and give them a heads up if they need to do an update.
