DCMC ~ Jarrett D.

  • Delegate’s day of sharing March 30th 2013. All GSR’s are strongly suggested to attend to review the delegate’s questionnaire and answer any questions.
  • Bus schedule for Pre-Conference assembly (on Balmark Ave in Yonkers, NY) is posted on website but not on this month’s Treasurer’s report.
  • SENY Convention will be at the end of the month. Please see Matt with any questions.

 

Alt. DCMC ~ Matt F.

  • Attended SENY AREA 49 Assembly on January 26th
    • Talked extensively about upcoming SENY Convention. Reservations need to be kept/filled or canceled in timely manner.
    • There will be a sign up sheet circulating for carpools.

  • DCMs – Group update forms are in. DCMs should make sure to contact Mike with registrar forms; forms need to be in by March Committee Meeting. (less than 2 weeks)
  • Mike’s computer crashed but any new information submitted tonight should be added by next month’s meeting.
  • New GSRs, DCMs, etc must submit new registration forms by end of meeting.
  • Any new “Group Information” forms can be submitted tonight for updates.

Standing Committee Reports:

 

Archives- Bob – Bob is in need of volunteers for unity breakfast.

Big Meeting- TBA

Corrections- Troy W. – Attended corrections committee meeting in city. GS has 2 programs geared towards members in AA inside and outside prison. (Bridging the Gap) 1 man and 1 woman from each district for contact with newly released inmates. (Corrections correspondence) AA’s outside write to AA inmates. Goal is to open more collaboration with SIA. Any groups interested in taking meetings to inmate facility please contact Troy. Troy need Co-Chair no time requirement, only desire to stay sober. All this information can be found on Suffolk General Service website.

CPC – Joanne- Next meeting is March 10, 2013 at SIA Office at 1:30pm. Currently working on the Suffolk County Emergency Room project. Suggestion of 1 person from each district for representation. Orientation will be at 12:45pm followed by meeting at 1:30pm.

LICYPAA Liaison- Izzy R.

LI Spirituality Through Service (LISTS) – Jim- Brooklyn will Host in 2013. Cathy B. from Brooklyn is the new Chair. If interested in joining committee. Please email longislandsts@yahoo.com or attend kick off meeting in February.  Committee will meet the first Thursday of every month at Cathy B’s residence. All counties need to submit check of $300 for treasury for committee. Theme for this year’s event is yet to be determined. Main goal at the moment is to procure venue for event; parking and mass transit will play larger role is decision for venue. Date TBD, possibly September or October 2013.

Public Information- Tom C- Working on a project with CPC, emergency room project; meetings will be held simultaneously with CPC. Trying to educate on Anonymity; workshop to be held with CPC to be run by James from SENY. Working with Special needs as well in the Nursing homes.

Special Needs – Michelle – Needs a co-chair. Committee is currently assessing the accessibility of all meetings that state they are Wheelchair accessible. Committee’s help far exceeds the limitations of only physically limited AAs.

Web Committee- John- Last month new site went live. www.aasuffolkgs-ny.org Please visit site for additional information. Pages on the website for committees are moving forward rapidly. Objective of the website is to create a place where people can go to be inspired to do service.

Writing Committee-VACANT-

Unity Breakfast- Linda C.- “Living in the Solution” March 3rd at East Wind Caterers / Conference Center 5720 Rte. 25A, Wading River, NY 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM  Tickets are $22. Please inform Linda of any AA members with special needs who will attend event. (Food allergy, ASL, etc.) There will be NO CASH REFUNDS at the door. Refunds will be distributed up until February 15th meeting. Please see Linda after meeting to submit volunteer information. There will be Spanish and ASL interpretations at meeting. When tickets are sold out there will be an active waiting list. Tonight is last opportunity for cash refunds. Please arrive  a little before 9 to receive wrists bands.
