Concept VI – Tom B “The Conference recognizes that the chief initiative and active responsibility in most world service matters should be exe-cuted by the trustee members of the Conference acting as the General Service Board.”
Treasurer- Tom B filling in for Christine C:
• Reviewed report
• Discussion on General Service being well over prudent reserve. Tom B explained that he is planning on brining a proposal to the body next month on ideas to do with the additional funds. It was mentioned that a donation could be given to World Service or we could work to expand our current services. It was mentioned that Tom B would be taking suggestions on ideas of what to do with the additional funds. Tom B welcomes suggestions and encourages members of the body to email or call him with any suggestions for the proposal for next month.

Beyond SGS: DCMC from Brooklyn: Mel-DCMC; Heidi-Alt DCMC; Nissa-Registrar; Colleen-Service Sponsorship; Karl-DCM
Talked about their District, doing service, attending workshops. Colleen talked about Service Sponsorship and encouraging new members and passing the message. Karl talked about being nominated to be Alt DCM and moving up to DCM and about getting info to all groups in your district, even those without representation in General Service.

NEW BUSINESS:
Motion made to to give $500 to Literature for purchase of material in time for June Birthday Brunch. Due to overwhelming majority, no count was necessary. Motion passed.
Tonights meeting was runnig later than usual. Motion made to extend the meeting by 15 minutes. Vote to accept: 19 In Favor; 20 Op-posed; 1 Abstentions — Motion Failled
Safe Place to Share Workshop: Chris advised this workshop will be offered on 8/4/2017 at 6 pm to 9 pm at True North Church and will focus on safety within our groups; dealing with outbursts, 13 stepping, harrassment etc.

• It was pointed out that literature is often taken, broken and lost “Shrinkage”. Doug is asking for $500 to replenish Literature.

Unity Breakfast 2017 – Joyce S – NR

• Tom B did an overview of last event. There was an overage with a balance left$ 2,394 due to last minute ticket sales. Tom B did an
audit of the receipts, ticket sales etc as well as overages from past Unity Breakfasts. Questions were entertained. It was pointed out
that the overage listed on the budget from the Unity Breakfast is NOT included in the Treasurer’s reported overages.

• The suggestions given at the event were read to the body.
